Anyone Who'll Lie Down, for [info]ladysunrope

For: [info]ladysunrope
Title: Anyone Who'll Lie Down
Author: [info]tarteaucitron
Pairing: Dom/Elijah, Dom/Viggo
Rating: R
Summary: Set during "that year" after Dom moved to LA. He takes what he can get.
Notes: The requester asked for plot, something I've always struggled to shoehorn into lotrips, I feel I may have failed on that count. I really hope this is not too much of a disappointment.

This is wonderful. Wonderful. After just a few paragraphs I felt like I was falling into the story, and I wanted to stay there, and I never wanted it to end. Beautiful writing, so visual and so poignant. And you certainly succeeded with the plot--I can only wish that more stories had plots like this one does :).

Totally loved it. ♥!

And because of what you said in the Notes, I think I know who you are. :)

I think I know who you are.

ha! yes. i think you probably do. :) i'm glad you liked it - i think i made quite heavy weather of it, and i sort of regret that. i really want to read loads of the other stories, but i'm stuck at the folks' with only v. occasional internet access. grrr.

This is one of the most beautiful stories I've read in a while. It was like rolling around in silk. I think I'd like to be cocooned forever *luxuriates*

This whole story was strangely compelling, and really quite well-written.

This line--
Dom stays in Viggo's bed every night after that, because he can lie here, on his side, angle his head up a degree or two on the pillow, and see for thousands of miles.
--is absolutely wonderful. I love it.

And this--
Dom runs back towards him, suddenly filled with the odd sensation that he is a dog being taken for a walk
--made me laugh, because that's exactly what went through my head as Dom jumped out of the car.

Really nicely done, mystery writer. Really a good read.

Like [info]caras_galadhon, I loved the line
Dom stays in Viggo's bed every night after that, because he can lie here, on his side, angle his head up a degree or two on the pillow, and see for thousands of miles. - wonderful writing, beautiful phrase :)
This was so good - your Dom, Elijah and Viggo were all so believable, blokey and real. If you're not British, you certainly have a good feel for the vernacular and ritual :)

I read all these comments and then get all of a squee cos this was written for me...ok will stop being territorial. Btw, mystery writer (although I have my suspicions) your fic sounds excellent read aloud -just thought you should know.

And like [info]trianne says if you are not a Brit, you should be! :)

i totally am a brit. can't take any additional credit for correct use of 'fuck', i fear. i *am* counting myself lucky, though, that you may not be in a position to tear apart my appalling lack of LA knowledge. :D

it fills me with fuzzies to think that you've read this fic aloud - wow. *blush* also i'm intrigued by your suspicions, as i'm not sure we've ever crossed paths before. the self-obsessed part of me wants to know exactly who you think i am, so i can go and read everything she's ever written and compare!

Dom stays in Viggo's bed every night after that, because he can lie here, on his side, angle his head up a degree or two on the pillow, and see for thousands of miles.

wow. that's an exceptional way to describe looking at pictures and the journey that can take you on.

You capture the melancholy Dom has talked about in his first year after "Rings" beautifully. There's a sadness and emptiness to him that came across quite clearly, but you don't use a heavy hand with it, so your Dom isn't an emobaby in any way.
